FASHION DESIGNERS



 OABONA OSUPILE

 

Meet Oabona Osupile who is affectionately known as Wayne Khalif  in the fashion industry, 21 years talented and professional young  man . The Lobatse born designer says his designs are inspired by themes that reflect the spirit of Africa. 






He competed in the Desert competition, though he did not win the colour he I thinks the colour combination he used created attention from people because of different designs and colourful fabrics.






MPHO KUAHO



Mpho kuaho Top local designer Mpho kuaho of issues studio and Josephs clothing  label attended Mercedez Benz Africa Fashion week which was held at Johannesburg from 24-28 0ctober .  she is well known for the designs available at Options stores as well as for the Colour In the Desert Fashion Week (CIDFW) held annually at Phakalane

Owns Kefseddy Designs which was established in 2003 after being asked to design the wardrobe for Miss Botswana to wear at the Miss World stage.

They provide people with suitable garments, designing all kinds, types and sizes of clothes. Specialising in evening dresses, ethnic and leather outfits, wedding gowns and collaborations:-The wardrobe for Miss Botswana 2003, 2009 & 2010, showcasing company designs in 2004 at the BITF & Redds 2005, dressing Miss Malika 2005, dressing Miss Universe(Botswana) 2010 to Miss Universe in Las Vegas. The company has also been the recepient of many awards acknowledging our successful and inspired approach to fashion.




UTLWANANG KELVIN MOYO
The Botswana High commission in collaboration with the British High Commission held its first international fashion exhibition week in October 2011 in Britain in order to give the local designers the opportunity to  display their work to international audience and thus marketing them. There were some of their first time designers like Buhle Mguni.  Utlwanang Moyo  had the majority ofdesigns which included accessories and he is well known for his colourful jewels which makes use of traditional Botswana fabric in contemporary settings. The designer expressed what Batswana had as slick tailoring and traditional African leteitshe (German print) fabrics.
