Miss Botswana


Miss is a true celebration of the beauty of the Motswana woman and that of the country. The miss Botswana pageantry Miss Botswana is currently the most active beauty contest in the country coming once every Held every year, young aspiring Botswana beauty pageants join to showcase their talent and with the aim of representing Botswana in continental fashion shows like miss universe.it is mostly held in Gaborone International Conference Center. In this show locally designed clothing is paraded thereby promoting local designer’s works.




Miss universe
Its an annual fashion show where qualified contestants from all countries of the world compete. Our country is well known for Mpule Kwelagobe who won in the year .this show promotes cultural values where each countries contestant showcases their culture to the world

Nokia face of Africa


Face of Africa is a continental model talent search that began in 1998. The first winner was Nigerian Oluchi Onweagba. The Face of Africa search rested for three years before returning in 2005. It was rebranded Nokia Face of Africa.
 After a cross-continental search that ran for 10 months, Botswana-born Kaone Kario was announced the winner at the Nokia Face of Africa 2005 Final held at Sun City on 10 July. This fashion show aims at promoting local models, together with the designers. The competition attracted contestants from all SADC member states and nine other African countries.






Desert fashion week
It’s an exquisite young designer’s competition that uses local models. It mostly held at the Phakalane golf estate.
 





Botswana at London Fashion week


 The showcase and fashion show exhibits the work of 5 designers from Botswana including 3 being flown over from Botswana especially for the event and also includes Beryl Phala who currently resides in Manchester.  Boikanyo will be one of the models and Asalepele Omphile will be too.
